Choroidal Pathologies and Cataract: Treatment Strategies and Current Approaches
Abstract
The choroid, located between the retina and sclera, is one of the most highly vascularized tissues in the body. In recent years, advances in optical coherence tomography angiography technology have significantly increased our understanding of the choroidal structure. Numerous studies have demonstrated a significant increase in subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT) following cataract surgery. This postoperative thickening is commonly attributed to the inflammatory response triggered during the surgical procedure.
