Traumatic Optic Neuropathy

Abstract
Traumatic optic neuropathy (TON) refers to optic nerve injury due to direct or indirect head and facial trauma. TON may lead to severe visual disfunction. A wide variety of methods, ranging from simple clinical examination to complicated imaging methods, are used to diagnose this clinical picture. High-dose steroids and surgical interventions have been applied in the indirect TON. Our review of the recent literature aims that discuss how to manage TON.
