Central Serous Retinopathy with Atypical Presentation and Differential Diagnosis of Central Serous Retinopathy

Central serous retinopathy (CSR) is a multifactorial chorioretinal disorder which is characterized by subretinal fluid in the macula, usually affecting middle-aged men. Although it has often a self-limited course and good visual prognosis, the patients with atypical presentation and in chronic or recurrent episodes may suffer from various degrees of visual impairment. Misdiagnosis and improper treatment have a negative effect on the clinical and visual outcomes of CSR. Unfortunately, CSR is a great mimicker and is one of the commonest causes of misdiagnosis due to it has a wide presentation spectrum. Taking the clinical history in detailed and interpreting all imagings correctly are so crucial for the differential diagnosis of CSR. In this study, CSR with atypical presentation and differential diagnosis of CSR are reviewed.
