Pneumatic Retinopexy - Indications and Techniques

Abstract
Pneumatic retinopexy is a minimally invasive procedure for repairing rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. PR is an excellent option in carefully selected patient, but skillful use of indirect ophthalmoscopy and more preoperative time are required for examination and to prepare and educate patient. Although it is associated with reduced morbidity, reduced cost and faster postoperative rehabilitation compared to pars plana vitrectomy and scleral buckling, it is currently underutilized.
