Systemic Side Effects and Geographic Atrophy after Anti-VEGF Treatment in Wet-Form (Neovascular) Age-Related Macular Degeneration
Abstract
Neovascular (wet-form) age-related macular degeneration (nARMD) is one of the leading causes of serious loss of vision in elderly population. Intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) agents are commonly used in the treatment of nARMD. Systemic side effects and geographic atrophy following intravitreal administration of anti-VEGF agents in nARMD are mentioned in this review.
