Borrelia, Bartonella Aand Rickettsia Related Uveitis; Diagnosis and Management
Abstract
Rickettsia and Borrelia are microorganisms that are transmitted to humans through a bite of arthropod vectors such as ticks, lice, fleas. Bartonella is often transmitted to humans by cat scratches or bites and causing systemic disease. Ocular manifestations may also accompany the systemic disease. These rare infections usually have a self-limiting course, but severe systemic and ophthalmic complications may also occur. Therefore, to be familiar with the clinical findings of these entities can facilitate prompt diagnosis and prevention of potential morbidities.
