Cytomegalovirus Associated Uveitis; Clinic, Diagnosis and Treatment

Abstract
Cytomegalovirus is a double-stranded DNA virus in the herpesviridae family and a wide spread pathogen in general population. It causes both anterior and posterior uveitis in immunocompetent and immunocompromised individuals. While anterior uveitis is characterized with high intraocular pressure and iris atrophy; retinitis and rarely acute retinal necrosis are the clinical presentation in posterior uveitis.
