The two main complications of central retinal vein occlusion are macular edema and neovascularizations. Intravitreal antivascular growth factor and corticosteroid injections are the mainstay of current treatment of central retinal vein occlusion. In this review we aimed to summarize the clinical studies of intravitreal ranibizumab in macular edema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion.
